The Cross Lap collection

The Cross Lap collection

Our Cross Lap collection has a certain rhythm and symmetry and offers flexible storage that is somewhat concealed but also light. It gets its name from The Cross Lap joint which is used to create the lattice in the door panels. This is a traditional and strong joint, the construction of which means that the wood works in compression and tension against each other, helping to counterbalance any movement of the wood over time.

The Cross Lap is available as a Sideboard, but can be made in a multitude of configurations as desired; a wardrobe, a bookcase or even larder.

The Making of our Cub Chair

The Making of our Cub Chair

All our upholstery is made in England using traditional methods and good materials. No synthetic foam here – the greyish fluff you see in its place is rubberised horsehair!  We also use recycled cotton wadding, wool felt, jute webbing, hessian cloth and latex foam.

We’ve streamlined our Shoppa upholstery section. Now you can choose from our house fabrics and checkout directly — no more “Bespoke” pricing, just beautiful pieces made to order.

The Dependables Paint Collection

The Dependables Paint Collection

Our new paint collection with Mylands is now available!

We spent two years testing, refining and perfecting The Dependables in Mylands' factory in South London, where they've been mixing paint since 1884. The end result is 24 trusted tones, carefully curated to be versatile and full of possibility whilst making room for all our favourite colours and combinations.

Mylands quality of paint is second to none; a specialism for which it has been recognised with a Royal Warrant since 1985. All the colours are water and plant based but still fantastically durable.

Beata Heuman on why you need to make space for the past in modern buildings

House & Garden

“It's all in the mix” is something we're always hearing from interior designers – but what does that really mean? Beata Heuman reflects on how to get the blend of past and present right, no matter what kind of building you're in.
